How did you manage to fix the issue?
Did you install the latest development tip or did you manage to get the older
version (Version 0.6.0) working?

I2C bus basically means VESA DDC.
If I understand, VESA DDC was originally for analog VGA monitors.
The protocol used for VESA DDC is I2C (Inter-Integrated Circuit), hence, I use
the term "I2C bus."
DVI and some FPs (Flat Panel) also use I2C bus for configuration purposes.

also lubuntu using vesa driver...
Also the monitor (and it's integrated cable) were brought from another computer
where they worked ok...

I took a look at the Xorg.0.log.old you attached.
It appears that the host (your computer) is not seeing the monitor via I2C bus,
and that's why it is not able to configure the monitor.
It could be a hardware issue (monitor / cable / mainboard VGA connector).
Before recommending installing the
here's the file requested, also sending it via mail to Kevin
i attached .old file because after triggering the error i relogged using vesa...
** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log.old"
Please attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log after you X.org with Openchrome. It
will be very useful.
Please try to contact with Kevin Brace directly:
He is the maintainer of Openchrome driver.
