Errors were encountered while processing: atop Log ended: 2020-10-29 08:38:12 This was especially troublesome because it made the upgrade of ubuntu 18.04 to 20.04 end in an error. No great harm was done afaik, it just looks very scary. I could reproduce it once after the upgrade, which produces the above output. Now i cannot reproduce this anymore. I ran apt-get autoremove after successfully reproducing this error, possibly this has fixed it( this seems improbable to me). There was a lot to remove because the upgrade did not clean up because of the error. I added the apt history log. Unfortunately i couldn't find any more elaborate error message in the dpkg log. Nor could a find a hard-coded "exit 7" in the post installation script /var/lib/dpkg/info/atop.postinst ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: atop 2.4.0-3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-52.57-generic 5.4.65 Uname: Linux 5.4.0-52-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.10 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Fri Oct 30 10:51:51 2020 InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-02-02 (1365 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20160719) SourcePackage: atop UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to focal on 2020-10-29 (1 days ago) ** Affects: atop (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug focal ** Attachment added: "apt log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1902209/+attachment/5429443/+files/history.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1902209 Title: atop 2.4.0-3 post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 7 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/atop/+bug/1902209/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
