Public bug reported: [Impact] Touchpad doesn't work after boot. kernel: i2c_designware i2c_designware.1: controller timed out
[Fix] "Actually disable Tx and Rx buffers on GPIO request". [Test] Bootup a TGL laptop. Touchpad doesn't work. With the fix applied, touchpad always work after boot. [Where problems could occur] Intel pinctrl can change between GPIO mode or IRQ mode, both effect many other devices. So problems can happen all across the board. However, the regression happens in v5.9, so no user really received the change. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Affects: linux-oem-5.10 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: Won't Fix ** Affects: linux-oem-5.10 (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-5.10 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-oem-5.10 (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1907466 Title: Fix unusable touchpad on TGL laptops To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1907466/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
