At the moment this issue also affects Ubuntu Hirsute (21.04), since
there's been no changes to the package.
I forwarded the issue to the Debian maintainers, to hopefully get it
fixed. Once that has been resolved, installing flowblade should
meanwhile I did that:
in regard to
https://docs.python.org/3/library/distutils.html
I typed that in the terminal:
sudo apt-get install python3-setuptools
after this installation, Flowblade starts

Yes, that should install the package. :) You can also install it in
other ways, but I doubt it will show up in the Software app since it is
a library.

I got the same error message when attempting to run flowblade on Ubuntu
20.10. Based on the error message, I manually installed
`python3-distutils`, after which the program now starts. Looks like this
