I did stop gdm3 and created Xorg.log (via ssh and startx) for 5.8.0-55 (which is fine) and 5.8.0-63 (where the internal display is black). EDID & modelines do look the same, input/event are numbered differently, SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad (*-63) vs PS/2 Generic Mouse (*-55) ** Attachment

It looks like https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux- hwe-5.8/+bug/1934647 is about the same. Here it's Intel UHD Graphics 620 - there it's about nvidia. 5.8.0-55 is fine 5.8.0-63 is affected 5.11.0-25 is affected I did journalctl -b-1 > prevboot1.txt journalctl -b-2 > prevboot2.txt
