I can confirm bug still exists in vanilla 2.6.30.4 kernel (using Archlinux). Mr. Roman Yepishev's patch solves issue (horizontal scrolling) for my Acer Aspire 5520. But not sure how this patch will affect Dell Vostro 1400 with the same { 0x73, 0x02, 0x50 } signature. Can anyone with Vostro 1400

Removed ALPS_FW_BK_3 as neither Dell Vostro 1440 nor Fujitsu-Siemens S6010 have left/right buttons on their 2-way joystick. Looks like GNOME in Intrepid got top/down/left buttons working somehow but as 'right' direction does not generate any button event this support cannot be considered as a
