Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager-core

I upgraded my home firewall today using do-release-upgrade. After a
hiccup or two, the process completed. After rebooting my server
remotely, I was unable to sign into it because the madwifi drivers
weren't installed.

This was caused by the fact that linux-generic (and thus the linux-
restricted-modules) were not installed during the upgrade. My server had
the linux-686 package on it. The -generic kernel image itself was
installed properly, but not the extra drivers.

** Affects: update-manager-core (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
