@Muhammed: It may be a good idea also to try a fresh Ubuntu 18.04
installation inside a different VM (with the same exact settings as this
one) to see if it has the same issues.

This cannot be answered with the information currently available. The problems
might be caused from either side of the VM (the host or the guest). What
OS/version is the host running? What exact version of Virtualbox? 6.1 might be
anything from Ubuntu 20.04 onward.
Which modules fail to load.
