xawtv.bin crashed
Same thing happens with me using Logitech E3500, Kubuntu 8.04, amd64.
The camera works just fine with Skype, Cheese, Kopete and luvcview,
but fails with xawtv (symptoms as above), camorama (cannot open
video device) and ekiga (video driver doesn't support the requested video
format).

Same things happen to me on Hardy 8.04 i386. I have a Logitech Quickcam
Pro for Notebooks (046d:0991). The v4l driver is uvcvideo. I think this
is related to limitations in the driver. Since this also causes problem
in mplayer, drv-qtgui, v4l-conf and most v4l applications I tried.
