Cheese screenshot white screen and video freezes [wayland]

I can confirm the white screen after taking a photo.
When trying to stop a video recording cheese freezes and after a few
seconds a "Cheese is not responding" dialog box is displayed. The video
found in 'Videos | Webcam' is of a continuous green screen.
