That's great to hear, even if of course it would be even nicer to understand what happened. As we never fully recognized this as a bug, and the problem isn't reproducible, I'm marking this report as Invalid. Feel free to comment back and change the bug status back to New (or file a new bug report)

Sorry Paride $ aptitude install samba=2:4.13.5+dfsg-2ubuntu2 didn't work due to unmet dependencies for other samba components. However I notice that an update to Samba today has solved the problem and I can access Windows Shares and my backups work OK. -- You received this bug notification
