According to vmware dev's analysis, it's due to an out of memory error.
Trying six times, I did not hit this issue after change the default 1G
memory to 2G.

Trying more install testing with newest daily build 4/Mar/2022 image, I
can't reproduce this issue every time. I am asking vmware developer for

Can you post the error report that is generated? It is not impossible
for the install to run out of disk or memory at this point but I can't
tell from what you have posted.
