Public bug reported: New for 22.04 - On logon we have a background check to display a notification of whether gdm is running with budgie - if it is then a notification is displayed informing them that screenlocking will be broken - use lightdm.
This check is unreliable - it only sometimes works - and is an annoyance to tmux users since tmux runs /etc/profile.d commands constantly. Really the GDM check should be done within budgie-desktop itself - not on a logon profile script. Recommendation is to remove this script. This will return us to the status-quo as of 21.10 where this check did not exist ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 Package: budgie-desktop-environment 0.17.10 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.15.0-23.23-generic 5.15.27 Uname: Linux 5.15.0-23-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu79 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: Budgie:GNOME Date: Thu Mar 31 10:43:32 2022 InstallationDate: Installed on 2022-01-29 (60 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-Budgie 22.04 LTS "Jammy Jellyfish" - Alpha amd64 (20220129) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: budgie-desktop-environment UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: budgie-desktop-environment (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug jammy third-party-packages -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1967265 Title: background gdmcheck is displayed constantly in tmux To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/budgie-desktop-environment/+bug/1967265/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
