In my case I think it flickers badly because of the "Night Light"
feature that is not working properly. Once I disable the feature, the
flicker is less annoying.

I also have the same issue on Kubuntu 22.04. I have used Kubuntu 21.10
with X and Wayland mixed, without any issues.

I can also confirm that I experience this issue.
Before, I used Ubuntu 21.04 with Wayland, similar hardware/settings and the
corresponding kernel of 21.04 and never had this issue once.
After a fresh install of 22.04 it came up around once per hour.
