This has occurred on two similarly equipped laptops.

Both machines install Hardy Tribe 6 just fine.  Then it goes through its
normal reboot.  After the Grub screen comes, times out, then goes
forward, the following message appears on the screen.  The machine will
boot no further:

starting up ...
This kernel requires the following features not present on the CPU:
0:6
Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.

     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
