[hardy] kernel 2.6.24-12 breaks wireless

upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.

I am experiencing this problem with the 2.6.24-19 kernel and restricted
modules. I have found that post-install, running depmed fixes the issue,
but I was wondering if there is a way to get around the problem during
install. I am performing an unattended installation (using debconf
preseed), and
I think I can now confirm that -18 does not have this problem.

Please disregard my last 2 comments. I had this issue confused with
another similar one.
I am now going through all bugs I marked as duplicates and
unmarking/keeping marked as appropriate.
I was a bit fast with my gun on this one, apologies to all involved.

I can confirm this still happens in 2.6.24-17. I am marking other
duplicate bugs, editing descriptions to match and cleaning up.

You
confirmed here on acer 5520 running this atheros. I have tried also the
source madwifi driver and it doesn't work. Is this related related to
the addition of acer_acpi in the latest kernel? at least earlier I could
manually install, but no longer
