With hardy final I got inconsistently sized icons in the open dialog.
With libgtk2.0-0 2.12.9-3ubuntu2 the icons all have the same size.

The patch comes from upstream and is working correctly on my hardy
installation, I'm running it for some day but it was late to get a
freeze exception for hardy, should be fine in hardy-updates though

I also just stumbled upon this problem, it is annoying especially if you are
using a smaller application font size than the default one (e.g. 8 instead of
10).
However, the Gentoo guys seem to have found a way to fix this:
