Thank you for reporting this issue about xserver-xorg-video-nv. Starting
with Lucid, Ubuntu is transitioning to using the -nouveau video driver
by default instead of -nv. The reason for this change is because
upstream development for the -nv driver has been quite slow. We are

The Samsung 206BW monitor is not detected properly. My monitor is
connected via the DVI interface and the video card is an 6600GT with
dual DVI digital outputs. The monitor runs in digital mode. I
installed
guys, the original bug report was with nvidia, and those who are
plugging it to a laptop should not be interested in this bug. The
monitor uses the same resolution as the panel on the laptop by default,
so there's nothing unusual about it. You just need _not_ to use cloned
mode, but then you also

I'm having the same problem but with a Samsung 2053bw.
I can only set the resolution to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the screen resolution
application.

sorry guys, i did not recognize this was a device-specific bug only
dealing that very samsung display. i am dealing with other hardware but
have the same problem of not being offered the 1680x1050 resolution.
i am gonna file a new report for my bug.
