- Add support for Synaptics devices with USB pid 0x0106 (LP: #2058193)
-- Marco
Since Mantic is going EOL next month (and Noble is out), I'll release it
without Mantic.

This patch does exist in Noble so I'm marking the development task Fix
Released.
** Also affects: libfprint (Ubuntu Mantic)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
** Changed in: libfprint (Ubuntu)
Status: In Progress => Fix Released
** Changed in: libfprint (Ubuntu Mantic)
The Jammy update can only be released after the fix is also present in
Mantic, Noble (LTS), and Oracular.
It is a requirement[1][2] of the SRU process that all releases up to the
development one (currently Oracular) have the fix, to prevent users who
upgrade to the next ubuntu release experience
My bad not realizing that non-LTS versions are not maintained on salsa.
This is the debdiff for mantic.
** Patch added: "libfprint_1.94.6+tod1-0ubuntu3.1~testing1.debdiff"
@Andreas, The main reason is that the fix is for oem hardware enablement
and those target LTS series.

I see it in noble[1], but not mantic[2], and there is no mention in this
bug about skipping mantic on purpose. When interim releases are skipped,
it's best to explicitly declare the intent and reason.
1.
Tested on the machines with the said fingerprint hardware using the
following procedures:
1. Enable the -proposed channel
2. Install 1:1.94.3+tod1-0ubuntu2~22.04.07 version of libfprint-2-2, which is
the one in the -proposed channel
3. Reboot the machine
4. After the reboot, confirm that
Hello Leo, or anyone else affected,
Accepted libfprint into jammy-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libfprint/1:1.94.3+tod1-0ubuntu2~22.04.07
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.
Please help us by testing this new
please upload to noble before release
