closing, that's not a gnome-panel bug, something must be adding those

The linked nautilus bug (and its more informative duplicate
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=330594) indicates that a patch
was committed in 2006 to avoid ctrl-d bookmarking this location.
However, there may be an alternate vector for this appearing... should
probably test to see if bug
Thank you for your bug report. Could you attach your .gtk-bookmarks? The
description say you are using the nautilus bookmark menu but you opened
the bug on gnome-panel which are you really using?

alright, read the description too quickly, that doesn't seem to be a
bug, something likely created this incorrect bookmark, that's not likely
gnome-panel or nautilus though, would be interesting to figure if that's
something you did and using what software

Places menu shows x-nautilus-desktop
IIRC I have had problems in the past with this x-nautilus-desktop entry
in the bookmarks file, which FWIW contains:
file:///tmp System temp dir
x-nautilus-desktop:///
file:///home/crispin/Desktop/Stuff
file:///home/crispin
I don't think I have ever used anything other than gnome to edit the
not sure how you managed to add this bookmark, I've tried doing that
using nautilus but ctrl-d on the desktop does nothing and adding it from
a nautilus view adds the directory and not the special location

Perhaps it was a bug in a very old version of nautilus (I'm thinking
2.12 or 2.14) - I can obviously just remove the line but probably
invalid lines in there should be ignored anyway ...

it's not easy to determine whether this line is invalid or not, the
format is correct and the url works in nautilus, I think the bug should
be closed and whatever application is creating incorrect bookmarks
should be changed

Places menu shows x-nautilus-desktop
Except the program that created the bookmark was almost certainly an old
version of nautilus, and so the bookmark is still there. It didn't
appear in gutsy, so it shouldn't appear in hardy
