Hi, I am the original poster of this bug, after the latest Ubuntu Hardy updates
(ubuntu-modules was updated), suspend now WORKS, but it is slow.
Since that is another issue (probably related to my wireless which doesn't work
after resume) I will report another bug.

Fixed for me in 2.6.24-16, using standard mesa drivers on ATI x1400 (no
fglrx)

Exactly the same problem here.
Running Hardy dist-upgraded almost daily. Suspend working for months, but after
upgrade to 2.6.24-14 resume from suspend stopped working. Machine spins up
fans and sound like it is starting up, but the screen
remains blank and only a hard reset saves it.

worked before, but now I just get a blank screen. My s2ram works though.

Updated today and got a black screen after resuming from suspend (didn't try
Hibernate)
Suspend works perfect with 2.16.24-12 kernel!

I am not sure I got it right, so here is one more...
I don't think this bug is related with bug 211355, my laptop just makes some
hard disk sounds and stops, that is all that happens after I try to resume,
screen remains black but the fan is acting normal (as opposed to bug 211355)...

Maybe I should explain a bit better.
Computer suspends fine but on wake up, it freezes with a black screen after a
second of disc activity (both hard disc and dvd rom).
Like I said, with earlier 2.16.24-12 everything worked fine.
