It would be really great if we could get this in Hardy... for me, this
is a major stability issue because I have to change my color scheme
almost daily because of bad office lighting. It is incredibly

I can confirm this bug, but with a slightly different thing: changing
the transparency of the background. If I open two terminals in and
adjust the effect settings in one of them both crash with a segfault.
