Had the same problem on 10.04 that nautilus required the password although I entered the right password for the user share. Installing libpam-smbpass fixed this issue. Maybe libpam-smbpass should be a dependency for nautilus-share in future, to avoid this problems. -- nautilus-share permissions

Hi, Just reopened this bug. I tried to set up a guest-accessible share with nautilus-share, nautilus-share asked for root access to install samba, and after installation there were no samba accounts set up (and so no one could access my computer's shares). (sudo -a $USER) fixed the problem. I'm

I believe the current nautilus-share will install libpam-smbpass, which will generate smb passwords based on your unix passwords. That's the reason it asks you to restart your session upon installation. I'm marking this as fix released. If you still see this issue (without libpam-smbpass
