I assume the reason for this problem is some kind of unfortunate
userspecific settings (kde settings?), since the problem only occurs
under one user account. The problem still ocurs with all current updates
installed.
I expect a clean re-installation to solve the problem.

Thanks for your info.
I attached a gdb session with partial symbols installed
Installing dbgsym package does not work directly.
The symbol version does not match the program version as shown by output below.
I need further input on how to bypass this problem.
$ sudo apt-get install
Thanks for your bug report. the trace is missing a lot of symbols,
please install the gnome-games, libglib and libgtk dbgsym packages, get
a new trace and attach it to the report, thanks.
