The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. There are one of two ways you should be able to test: 1) If you are comfortable

I think this bug might be a duplicate of bug #146692 which describes the freeze on a Samsung Q45. On the q45 the last message before the freeze is the ricoh-message as well, but the freeze is caused by the module video.ko. It would be interesting to know which graphics hardware is build into

I forgot: If your notebook has Intel graphics, can you please boot with acpi=off and add blacklist video to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist After that please try a normal boot. Thanks. -- All updated kernels starting from 2.6.24-14 are failed too boot the system (it hangs) on my samsung Q70 laptop

My Samsung runs with Intel graphics and as I wrote beforte: blacklisting the *video* module did the trick. Obviuosly, my problem isn't caused by the ricoh card reader. Using acpi=off boots the laptop OK, but it drains the battery extremely fast... I also tried blacklisting the ricoh module, but

Andrei, can you try Sven's suggestion and add blacklist ricoh_mmc to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist. Sven, can you try kernel 2.6.26 with a liveCD ? Thanks in advance. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- All updated kernels starting from 2.6.24-14 are failed too boot
