This problem is fixed for me in the latest firefox using the
flashplugin-nonfree, so I guess it has been fixed.

ubuntu 8.04 with kernel 2.6.24-19-generic amd64

Confirmed on ubuntu 8.04 amd64 and i386. On amd64, it eventually worked
after I reinstalled flashplugin-nonfree.
On i386, I still can't get the flash plugin to appear in the registered
plugins list (location: about:plugins), no matter how many times I
reinstall flashplugin-nonfree. and restart

I can confirm this. Playing embedded flash videos from other sites work
okay, for example YouTube.com, but the video that the reporter linked to
crashes firefox for me. I'm using version 3.0~b5+nobinon.
