In general, the live CD cannot preserve any changes you do to any files,
documents, etc. So the intended way is to set up the Broadcom driver
*after* installation.
However, we do have some hacks in place to copy over some drivers. But
this does not work for installed firmware at the moment. Would
Sorry, i think you've missed the point.
If you reread the bug, whats happening is the Broadcom Wifi is being
recognised from the LiveCD, this we accept i belive, that a reboot will lose
the settings.
If however i INSTALL a fresh install of Hardy, i'd expect my Wifi card to
also be recognised.

With the final release this is still the case. I booted the livecd (and
yes, my wifi card was listed) and immediately did an install. After
install, jockey doesn't list my card (Broadcom 4318) and I have to
manually install b43-fwcutter. Strange.
