When I insert my removable usb flash pen thunar doubly opens automatically
the unit with two windows instead of one.

Thunar version is 0.9.0. Xubuntu is Hardy.
pgrep Thunar says that 2 instances are running, which is obviously the
source of the problem. But I just don't know how these instances have
been launched (from which configuration files).

linked it to that.
workaround that may work:
1. pgrep Thunar
2. kill the extra instances that are running.
