Tried to use the xorg.conf file from Gutsy. No change.
Under Gutsy (before upgrading) I had issues with the Title bar disappearing,
could this be related to the non-sticky title bar under Hardy?
I have now downgraded to Gutsy as I spent to much time with a desktop that does
not work as it
Is the Intel driver issue you are referring to for an Intel graphics
card? The reason I ask is because our problem seems to be the same and

I have reinstalled the intel-drivers + the 915resolution package. It
seems like things have been fixed now, although I am not sure. I still
think this is related to the intel-driver.
If there is any way I can give some debug information, please let me
know.

After talking to someone on #nautilus they said this could be related to:
a) X-server og
b) an Intel driver that is not working.
After a hard crash (where the leds for number key pad and Caps Lock
blinked) I am tuned more and more against the Intel Driver issue.

I have been experiencing identical problems with my Hardy system. I
upgraded to 8.04 from 7.10 and everything from the dots to the slippery
windows to the inability to move desktop icons is showing up. It is
incredibly frustrating and I am also considering going back to 7.10.
