Public bug reported: Samsung 193P LCD monitor 1280x1024 60Hz Nvidia nForce3 Ultra (PNY Verto FX 5500) AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Shuttle XPC case
This bug was present in both Gutsy and now Hardy, but not in Dapper. Knoppix gets the configuration correct, by the way. I've tried stealing the xorg.conf file from Knoppix and using it with Gutsy, but no joy. Also tried tweaking my xorg.conf with xvidtune, but it complains that "You have requested a mode-line that is not possible, or not supported by your hardware configuration". See the attached photo, a close-up of the bottom right corner of my monitor. There is a large black strip running vertically down the entire right side, which is about 3/4 of an inch wide. This bug is present regardless of whether I use the free nvidia driver, or the one I get using the restricted driver, though the size and position is slightly different. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Monitor not configured correctly in x.org https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222360 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
