Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org
OpenOffice.org seems to have a communication problem or something with Compiz. For whatever reason, tooltips are not properly unmapped. They are in an "in-between state" in which they will perform reactions expected of tooltips, but at the wrong triggers. They do not steal focus, but sometimes behave as if the pointer was over them (opacify plugin from compiz-fusion) when it's not, but don't react to it properly. To reproduce: 1. Turn compiz on (I use GNOME) 2. New OpenDocument Text (i.e. open Writer and hit new) 3. make a table 4. scroll, hover the pointer over table borders etc. anything that makes a tooltip appear 5. some tooltips will behave bizarrely as described above 6. close the window. Note the tooltips don't go away 7. If you have it installed, try rotating the desktop cube, and note that they aren't burned into the screen, but are "sticky" in the sense of appearing on all desktops The main problem with this is twofold: 1. The tooltips are very annoying, as they don't go away and are on top of windows which are "always on top" like (for me) VLC, which of course can cause issues 2. Enough tooltips will crash Compiz. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- problems with OpenOffice.org and Compiz https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/225014 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
