actually mv .config/audacious .config/audacious-play-next-bug solves the problem (although all playlists will be lost) actually after using diff I found that I had to edit ~/.config/audacious/config [audacious] no_playlist_advance=TRUE obviously this has to be deleted (like when deleting all

Hi Jan, I got exactly the same problem. At first I thought it must be an issue with the pulseaudio output plugin in hardy but it was not. What fixed my problem was to disable the bypass all signal processing ... in the audio preferences. now audacious advances to the next song without a hitch.
