Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acpi-support

With Hardy, fresh install, temperature goes as high as 70 degrees C, with "top"
I can see that CPU is idle, more than 90%. With Ubuntu Edgy temperature stays
at 45 degree C.
To reach 70 C the only thing I need is just start the computer, no need to run
any application.
I have the same problem with Hardy and with Debian Lenny, the solution for me
is to pass at boot time the option "acpi=off" to the kernel. That works for
Hardy, Lenny and the Hardy LiveCD too. Edgy just works fine without that
option, an ACPI bug perhaps? My Laptop is an HP Pavillion ZD7000.

Thanks
