It would seem to me that if the problem only happens during a suspend/resume,
then it would be up the kernel to handle the problem. You mentioned that you
also get it during a fresh boot - in this case, it could be due to Xorg not
detecting the hardware correctly.

But, just to be clear, I'm pretty sure the bug is NOT due to kernel
suspend. Kernel suspend probably just resets the mousepas driver as it
was after a fresh start. And as I always get the crazy mousepad

With both Edgy and Feisty, I still have the problem with the crazy
mousepad. But as I said, I also have it on fresh start.
