I have the same issue. After fresh install of Xubuntu 7.1, immediate
upgrade to 8.04 failed with the message
Could not calculate the upgrade
A unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade. etc.
Machine is Sony Viao PGC962C laptop
