I enabled the backports and proposed updates in my intrepid 32bit and
after upgrading to kernel 2.6.27-11-generic, the system freezes and caps
lock led blinks. this issue happened to me before with another kernel,
but it went away in kernel 2.6.27-9-generic... now it's back on the
newest

I tried to recompile the driver downloading it and doing sudo module-
assistant a-i ov51x-jpeg
It fails and asking me in a terminal UI to View the log, Exit or ignore errors.
I choose to Exit and it said to me that in this folder: /var/cache/modass had a
log.
I will attach that log.

Without the cam and with the videodev and ov511_jpeg driver compiled from
source(i got it from official repo), it hangs sometimes like before.
I removed both modules from /etc/modules and I'm fine. No more hangs. So its a
driver issue.

Thanks for your report.
It seems you have a usbwebcam plugged in and the module is causing the
kernel oops.
Please can you try to unplug it and see if the system still hangs ?

The cam driver was compiled by me. Its a PS2 eyetoy. I've unplugged it
now. I will report tomorrow if it hangs again.
