[Bug 229357] Re: Compiz doesn't work with FGLRX on big resolution

2008-05-14 Thread Shinkan
OK, 've found a workaround to this. It works with repos fglrx and AIGLX, out of the box. Since we are limited (by compiz or fglrx driver, don't really know) with texture resolution (Comparing resolution (2560x1024) to maximum 3D texture size (2048): Failed.), we can not use Compiz on a dual

Comparing resolution (2560x1024) to maximum 3D texture size (2048): Failed. That's the key line, your video card does not support textures large enough to fit your current screen resolution. This is a hardware limitation. ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- Compiz

You're right. After spending hours making the not present lines change to present (I've had a lot of strange behaviors after installing proprietary ati/amd from their installer, and then trying envy), I still have the last line : Comparing resolution (2560x1024) to maximum 3D texture size

However ... I still think it's a bug as I have X800GT with 512Mb DDR3 on it, and The Web shows some other less powerful cards with only 64Mb running theses resolutions. ** Summary changed: - Compiz doesn't work with FGLRX + Compiz doesn't work with FGLRX on big resolution ** Tags added: dual
