Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit
I just upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 (hardy) and have a new problem with gedit (2.22.1) which i did not have with gutsy. Problem: gedit does not recognize and automatically syntax-highlight .f Fortran files any more. .f90 files are processed normally, but .f files aren't. While gnome (nautilus) show the MIME type of .f files to be text/x-fortran, they are viewed by gedit as text/plain, hence the lack of proper highlighting.
