Can you open an audio file and reproduce it with totem? may you get an
rhythmbox log with rhythmbox --debug rhythmbox-debug.txt and attach
it to the report? thanks.

Rhythmbox
Sounds works perfectly on the internet, as for other applications, I
have yet to use any that require sound. Also, I'm not quite sure how to
check if Totem or VLC are working properly.
I just tried to insert a DVD and it said it could not read the media.
