I can't confirm 1.4's behavior with the nagios-mysql package, but you
can take a look at my newer nagios packages, at:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/rogerw/ubuntu hardy main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/rogerw/ubuntu hardy main
I have version 3.0.1. Hopefully this will get accepted
