Well, didn't I speak to soon

work like a charm.
It only partially works. Indeed, it bring sound to the system, but only one
sound and a hell of a lot of trouble.
If you (say, for example) run any audial tab in
Well,
You'ld all be glad to know that the above fix (#22, previously used by me),
works perfectly well with Ubuntu 9.04.
The only difference is, that now the file is called
alsa-base.conf
instead of the old
alsa-base
Works great!

[RESOLVED]
Works like a charm.
I own a lap-top Toshiba Satellite L40-13G (Short Model Name: PSL40E).
All I did was:
Add the line options snd-hda-intel model=3stack had to be added to
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base

For those of you with this notebook that have managed to get sound
working using the 3stack option? Can you please verify that everything
works if possible, i.e speakers, headphone out, line in/mic in/internal
mic (if exists), and digital out (if exists)?
There is already some quirk code present

satellite p105. Tried this fix as well as many others with no such
luck. still no sound. just wondering if anyone with the same laptop

I have the exact same laptop and have just tried the 8.10 beta live CD.
Again no sound, but I'm afraid I'm not sure which commands I should run
to generate the sound logs. Since I am running from the live CD, the
wireless doesn't work so I can't send error reports to the alsa website.
