GNUChess loses on consulting help

When I go to help in glChess, it says White wins - one of the players has died
This just happened to me. We were in a dead drawn king and pawns (no
pieces on either side) endgame. The game was going to end in threefold
repetition soon. We were probably on move 40-50 somewhere. I haven't had
any problems with GNU Chess ending unexpectedly. I'm in Ubuntu 8.04, I
think it is.
I can confirm this.
1. start glchess
2. make sure you play a game against the computer (should be default)
3. chose Help|Contents
4. observe how the current game is interrupted. (connection to GNU Chess
broken?)
