Can you confirm that this issue happens only when compiz is enabled?
Also can you please test it against Intrepid to see if the issue still
exists in the latest code, or only on Hardy?

I can confirm this. I have a 965GM (rev 0c) intel card and this happens
when I try to rotate the screen my secondary screen (VGA).
