That made me wonder... I thought of making a Greasemonkey script as a
demonstration, but I realized that Greasemonkey scripts begin when the
page has finished loading, when the page has already stolen focus. Is
this intractable? Would it be possible for me to keep the focus-stealing
function from a

behavior on third-party web pages, this is about the behavior on a web

I'm surprised that Firefox permits a page to steal focus from browser
chrome (e.g. the Ctrl-L location bar or the Ctrl-K search box); I don't
think this ought to be possible. However, since it is possible, it would
be best to omit the focus_search call in the page.

It does not take a very slow connection to trigger this. There's about
1-2 seconds between when the window opens and the focus change occurs.
If you are a reasonable typist and you begin typing as soon as you open

In this case, I would highlight that _if_ one's internet connection is
slow _and_ you have used the search box in the upper right corner
before, this would be possibly a 'bug'.

Summary: Upon loading Firefox, if a user begins typing in the Firefox
search box or the address bar, focus will be pulled upon the default
start page's loading. This will result with the user having their entry
broken across two boxes as the focus will be 'yanked' to the def
