Several Toshiba models have ACPI issues, so I marked it back as 'New' as
Jeremy told. There are many bug reports about this problem: 20727,
22096, 81401, 128320, 210222, 241180, 340369, 471934. And these are just
the ones I've found already. Running Ubuntu on many Toshiba models is
getting worst
This bug report was marked as Incomplete and has not had any updated
comments for quite some time. As a result this bug is being closed.
Please reopen if this is still an issue in the current Ubuntu release

noted in a previous comment that Keys were working on Ubuntu 8.04. No
more reaction since upgrading on Ubuntu 8.10. whereas the original bug
report notes this issue began with 8.04. So I think even though you may
