I've just manually installed the latest Nvidia driver (177.68 beta) and I no
longer see this problem.
However, I've only been using FF for 10 minutes since the install.
Nvidia's changelog does mention fixing some caching bugs, so maybe
that's what it was all along?

I have found a (rather unsatisfactory) workaround - In FF's toolbar,
select View / Page Style / No style.
