Intrepid. Assuming the issue still exists, care to take a look at

Yes, it seems to work with Intrepid now. I have just tried a few times
and it works fine. In fact it was a bug with gnome I think. With KDE I
never had this problem. I also tried other distros and there it was the
same - kde works, gnome freezes. So at last I can suspend now, some days
after

Where can I find the newer kernel? In the respositories from ubuntu I
can only find the 2.6.24, even after activating hardy proposed and
backports. I don't want to install beta right now.
But I've just tried with the live cd - and it didn't work either.
Suspend seems to work, but waking up does
The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.

Thanks for attaching those... Please also attach the following:
* Try to suspend/hibernate and then restart the system and attach
/var/log/kern.log.0
* Tarball of /proc/acpi directory. You can't just tar all files because their
content sometimes changes etc.
* cp -r /proc/acpi /tmp
*
