The 2 xorg.conf files are well formatted. I can't reproduce the problem
here.
The black screen is not caused by Envy (it's the fglrx driver). You should file
a bugreport here:

I literally have 25 backup copies of my xorg.conf file, so I am not sure which
one caused this crash. Here are the one I am currently using (essentially
default) and the one that EnvyNG creates. Now that I can get Envy to run at
all it just leads to a plain black screen on both the monitor
It looks like Guidance crashed.
Can you attach your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please?
