Replicable steps for me getting this same error: 1. Install Wubi with Hardy Heron 2. Update Hardy until ~June 25th, 2008. 3. sudo update-manager -d -- close all programs and let install happen 4. Boot manager into Ubuntu (other OS, Win XP SP2) 5. Gets you into initramfs and not into Ubuntu I

when I boot wubi now it shows initrmfs and there are only a limited number of commands I can use at this point. I was trying to mount a drive but was unable to using the normal mount /dev/sda1 / command,because the / was already mounted with something. I tried init 5 but that didn't work either.
