Ok. The method for displaying desktop icons has considerably improved in KDE
4.1, which will be released with Kubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) this October.

Hello Thomas and Jonathan. I don't believe this bug is fixed. I have
latest updates in Kubuntu-KDE4 Hardy and I can find these files in
folder /home/mattik/Työpöytä/ (Desktop in Finnish) when I download them
by Firefox. But desktop what I see have only time gadget and default
background.

I have enabled fglrx and my Graphics driver is Ati Radeon X700. I have
had problems with screen refresh when I tested Hardy alpha and beta.
Sometimes all of Desktop went white and sometimes I couldn't change
